Introduction to Quantitative Methods

This unit aims to give you a sound understanding of:

  • - numeracy and business calculations
  • - algebraic methods
  • - graphs, charts and diagrams
  • - the use of statistical methods to supply business and management information
  • - the laws of probability

Financial Accounting

Unit purpose and aim(s)

This unit aims to give you a sound understanding of:

  • - the nature of financial accounting and the principles of double entry book-keeping
  • - how to prepare final accounts
  • - accounting rations for profitability and liquidity
  • - costing for materials, labour and overheads
  • - how costing principles can be used in decision making
  • - budgeting and budgetary control
